Seamus O’Connell – Amateur who won the title with Chelsea

Irish heritage but born in Carlisle in 1930. A cousin of Sean, a Hurling great for Derry. Worked in the family cattle farming business whilst scoring important goals in Chelsea’s first ever Division 1 title and at the same time starred  at the top of the amateur game for England, Bishop Auckland and Crook.
